12 anxious men synopsis

Five clowns are dead and their accused killer has just stood trial. After getting their instructions from the judge, the jurors file into the stark New York City jury room.

They are:

  • Avram, a Jewish mohel
  • Madeiny, a Latino professional baseball player
  • Kwai, a South Korean/American stand-up comic
  • Lester, a U.S. Army veteran transsexual
  • John Eskiminzon, a Native-American truck driver
  • Bart, an African-American little person
  • Carl, a paraplegic senior
  • Hassan, an Arab-American male nurse
  • Sergio, a foul-mouthed gay plumber
  • A conjoined set of twins – Chevelle, an African-American, and Aashish, an Indian-American
  • Jophiel, a Caucasian hypnotherapist

When a preliminary vote is taken, eleven jurors say guilty. Only Chevelle, the African-American conjoined twin, says he’s not sure. His brother is shocked – as are the other jurors. Thus begins the odyssey of eleven men trying to convince one that he’s wrong.

But Chevelle is not swayed easily, and during the course of their deliberations, certain startling facts are revealed – facts that eventually reveal that the jurors themselves are not whom they seem to be – and a jury room that is soon under siege.
